This document provides information about a high school in Spain. It describes that the school has students from ages 12-18 in both compulsory and non-compulsory education programs. • In Bachillerato there can be

4. T I M E S
• Lessons start at 8:30, we leave
at 14:30 and have lunch at
home.
• We have 6 lessons, 55
minutes long.
• We only have 1 break that is
30 minutes long after the first
3 lessons.
• During breaks, we normally
have a snack in the canteen,
play or speak.
• In this school and all over the
country, we have lessons from
Monday to Friday,

• The first ones we have are Christmas
holidays. They last about two weeks,
from Christmas Eve to two days after
The Three Wise Mens’ Day (January
6th)
• We also have the Holy Week in March or
April, it lasts a week.
• The school year finishes the last week
of June (around 24th), and we have
summer holidays from that date to the
second week of September, (around
12th)
• In Asturias we also have some days off
for Carnival, around November 1st and
two local festivities.
• National festivities: December 6th and
8th and May 1st
6. A F T E R N O O N
C L U B S / L E S S O N S
• The school is open until 19:00.
• We don't have lessons after 14:30, but some
clubs, for example of handball, speed skating,
basketball or indoor football, train in the sports
facilities of our school.
• Sometimes there are some workshops for
students or families.
7. S C H O O L F A C I L I T I E S
The high school has different facilities
such as laboratories, an assembly hall, an
art classroom, a music classroom, a
technology classroom and a workshop, a
library, a canteen, an inner and an
outer pitch, a vocational training building,
computer rooms, some vocational training
labs for Chemistry, Laboratory,
Administration and Food Industry and
general classrooms.

There are three assessment sessions
in the school year, although we take
exams and carry out works during the
whole school year.
When we get the mark reports, we
get:
‘Insuficiente’: Unsatisfactory (0 to 4)
‘Suficiente’: Satisfactory (5)
‘Bien’:Well (6)
‘Notable’: Remarkable (7 – 8)
‘Sobresaliente’: Outstanding (9-10)
