This document discusses a study that analyzed heavy metal content in hair/wool samples from cows, goats, buffaloes, and sheep as well as liming agents like sodium sulfide and lime. Samples were acid digested and analyzed using atomic absorption spectroscopy to quantify arsenic, cadmium, lead, and manganese. The study found that these heavy metals accumulate in hair/wool due to sulfur groups and are then released into wastewater during the hair dissolving liming process in tanneries. Graphs show the quantified levels of different heavy metals found in the hair/wool, liming agents, and resulting liming wastewater. The study evaluates heavy metal discharge from tanneries during hair

Boehm titration. The adsorption of iodine from the aqueous solution indicates the degree of
relative activation Equilibrium adsorption isotherm for removal of phenolfrom aqueous solution
was investigated. The maximum adsorption cryacity was determined from the liquid phase batch
adsorption experiments. The effect of experimental parameters including solution pH, agitatiol
time, particle size, temperature and initial concentration was alsoinvestigated. The equilibrium
data was analyzedusing Langmuir, Frendlich and Redlich Peterson adsorption model to describe
the adsorption isotherm.and estimate the adsorption isotherm parameters. The study indicates tk
potential use of the adsorbent for removal ofphenol from the aqueous solution.

ln tannery, liming is the first and indispensible chemical operation where conventionallyhide/
