The Indian Ocean is the third largest ocean, covering 20% of the Earth's water surface. The Arabian Sea is bounded by Pakistan and Iran to the north, Somalia to the south, India to the east, and the Arabian Peninsula to the west. The Bay of Bengal forms the northeastern part of the Indian Ocean and is roughly triangular, bordered by India and Sri Lanka to the west, Bangladesh to the north, and Burma and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands to the east.
