FMA Architects Ltd was established in 1973. A Large Interdisciplinary practice with offices in Nigeria, South Africa and Botswana. The main office is located in Lagos Island.5Brief Company Profile
The Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme was established by the ITF in 1973 to enable students of higher institutions to gain practical experience in their various fields of learning. This exposure is indispensable and it further complements academic work. It’s therefore a prerequisite towards attainment of a University degree. It is an academic program designed for students undergoing degree courses in technical fields targeted at exposing the students to the real world of work while enabling them to get a practical knowledge of the various fields. It has become a necessary pre-condition for the award of degrees to students undergoing technical courses in higher institution.6INTRODUCTION
My Training and experience comprised both office work and site work . I familiarised myself with the working environment. Meetings are usually convened every Monday, At the office I was given a variety of projects to assist on. These ranged from semi-detached two storey residential buildings to high rise residential buildings. While implementing these projects, I utilized diverse CAD softwares. I initially began by drafting in AutoCAD, then I later commenced Building information modelling. This modelling skills improvement involved the use of Autodesk Revit Architecture 2010 . Occasionally, in the office, we hold seminars: presentations by prospective business partners who have the potential to facilitate the firms’ project delivery and design services in diverse ways.7An Overview of my Training Experience

A different view of another floor of the building17Residential Building at new Dawn Baptist Church
I visited three different sites viz:The Wheatbaker Hotels, IkoyiEsowofina ltd, Victoria IslandA residential building at Magbon close, Victoria IslandI was able to learn more about the application of building materials in a real site.I discovered more regarding what site supervision entails. Each site offered a different and unique experience for me. The architect must ensure that the finished building envelope corresponds with his design. I observed the crucial role of the architect in the management of the projects. The architects’ role involved a great degree of responsibility. It ranged from coordinating the members of the construction team to documentation of completion phases. The architect has to ensure that the building construction complies with established standards and regulations while maintaining the allocated time for project completion. 18SITE EXPERIENCE
