INFLIBNET was initiated in 1991 by the University Grants Commission of India and became an independent organization in 1996. It aims to promote scholarly communication, modernize libraries, and provide efficient services to users. INFLIBNET runs many services for higher education in India, including e-ShodhSindhu, UGC-INFONET Digital Library Consortium, NLIST Programme, an online library catalog, InfoPort subject gateway, an institutional repository using DSpace, the open access journal platform OJAS, and repositories for electronic theses and dissertation and PhD synopses. INFLIBNET also develops integrated library management software and databases, conducts training programs, and provides e-content in many subjects.

DSpace software. It hosts INFLIBNET’s Press and Media
related documents, Annual Reports, Convention
Proceedings, and Special Seminar, etc.
10. OJAS is a journal management and publishing system to
expand and improve access to research. Currently 17 open
access journals are available for the researchers.
11. This project is very important for the researchers. It is a
repository of Indian Electronic Theses and Dissertations
(ETD). It provides a platform for researchers to deposit
their Ph.D. theses and make it available to the entire
scholarly community in open access format.
12. It is a repository of approved Synopsis submitted to the
universities for registration under Ph.D. programme.
13. Research Project Database is details of the accomplished
and ongoing funded projects, carried out by various
faculty members, working at various universities in India.
15. INFLIBNET has developed integrated library
management software known as SOUL. The SOUL 2.0
was launched in 2009. It has six integrated modules.
