 Initiated by the UGC in April 1991.

Ahmedabad.
 It became an independent, autonomous Inter-
University Centre (IUC) of UGC in May 1996.
 To promote scholarly communication among
academicians and researchers.

country.

activities are run for the development of Indian higher

It is unified Online Library Catalogues of books, theses
and journals available in major university libraries in
India
InfoPort: A Subject Gateway for Indian Electronic-
Resources
INFLIBNET Centre develops a digital repository using
DSpace software. It hosts INFLIBNET’s Press and Media
related documents, Annual Reports, Convention
Proceedings, and Special Seminar, etc.
OJAS is a journal management and publishing system to
expand and improve access to research. Currently 17 open
access journals are available for the researchers.
This project is very important for the researchers. It is a
repository of Indian Electronic Theses and Dissertations
(ETD). It provides a platform for researchers to deposit
their Ph.D. theses and make it available to the entire
scholarly community in open access format.
It is a repository of approved Synopsis submitted to the
universities for registration under Ph.D. programme.
Research Project Database is details of the accomplished
and ongoing funded projects, carried out by various
faculty members, working at various universities in India.
INFLIBNET is regularly conducting
CALIBER,PLANNER,IRTPLA to train library staff.
INFLIBNET has developed integrated library
management software known as SOUL. The SOUL 2.0
was launched in 2009. It has six integrated modules.
 Acquisition
 Cataloguing
 Circulation
 Serial Control
 OPAC
 Administration
It provides e-content in 77 subjects at postgraduate level.
VIDWAN is the premier database of profiles of scientists /
researchers and other faculty members working at leading
academic institutions and other R & D organization
involved in teaching and research in India.
