INFLIBNET is an autonomous inter-university center established in 1991 under the University Grants Commission of India. It aims to modernize university libraries in India through automation, digitization of resources, and providing access to scholarly electronic resources. Some of its key programs and services include e-ShodhSindhu, an electronic resource consortium providing access to over 10,000 journals and databases; e-PGPathshala containing e-learning materials for 77 postgraduate subjects; and IndCat, an online union catalogue of books, theses, and journals held in major university libraries in India.

5. e-ShodhSindhu
Based on the recommendation of an Expert Committee, the Ministry of HRD
(now renamed as Ministry of Education) has formed e-ShodhSindhu
Merging three consortia initiatives, namely UGC-INFONET Digital Library
Consortium, NLIST and INDEST-AICTE Consortium.
The e-ShodhSindhu will continue to provide current as well as archival
access to more than 10,000 core and peer-reviewed journals

The MHRD, under its National Mission on Education through ICT (NME-
ICT), has assigned work to the UGC for development of e-content.

Online Union Catalogue of Indian Universities
Online Library Catalogues of books, theses and journals available in
major university libraries in India.
The union database contains bibliographic description, location and
holdings information for books, journals and theses in all subject
areas
