The importance of applications in a modern, digital world
28. However, there are a number of challenges stopping organizations
from accelerating their application development and delivery:
▸ Building applications based on traditional programmatic
architectures (eg: monolithic, n-tier, ESB)
▸ “Legacy” processes and technologies are not conducive to a
modern application approach to offering cloud computing
benefits
▸ Lack of in-house time, skills and knowledge to stay on top of the
rate and pace of change, this hinders their ability to stay ahead and
innovate faster than their competition

What we are announcing? (Why the customer should care)
1. Automated Policy as Code vision with thought leadership discussions building
through beta release, then into GA.
2. Customers should care because:
a. They have to manage risk despite complexity and growing security threats
b. AI is being infused into operations at scale and it needs to operate within policy
guardrails; difficult to manage manually and now it’s automated
c. As policies change customers need to feel confident that they are operating
to current standards.
What to say to your customer? (Business Value)
● Respond to customer questions when asked with this short elevator pitch:
○ Automated Policy as Code helps you operate with less risk and more
consistency to ensure AI can do its best work. Policies provide needed
controls to use AI reliably and at scale, even as policies change.
○ It is an automation vision designed to help you operate complex and
AI-infused environments according to your compliance needs. It automates
otherwise manual compliance management and can provide the guardrails
you need so both IT teams and AI operate as you expect.

data centers, cloud providers or at the edge
● Enhanced application performance, global scalability and robust security capabilities through
simplified deployment and management processes
● Based on the open source Kuadrant project and builds on the capabilities of Red Hat OpenShift
● Platform teams face increasing complexity of setting up and running environments across multiple
clusters and multiple environments
● Need to focus on delivering value through integrated, unified solutions that more easily connect,
protect and manage their services and infrastructure
Why is this compelling RIGHT NOW to you?
● NOTE: Developer Preview only at this time; GA is planned for late 2024

Technical Talking Points
● Red Hat Connectivity Link brings all of this together under a central control plane. Notable
features include:
○ Multi-cluster ingress management provides unified management of ingress gateways
across multiple clusters, leading to efficient and more seamless connectivity for applications
across clusters, regardless of their deployment model or geographical location.
○ Global load balancing automatically configures DNS for domains associated with
multi-cluster ingress gateways, optimizing performance and availability for a global user base.
○ Programmatic application and workload movement provides an automated mechanism to
shift applications or workloads between clusters programmatically for better resource
utilization, application scalability, and disaster recovery.
○ Rate limiting and API protection regulates the volume of API calls an individual user or
system can make within a certain period. This protects the back end from being overwhelmed
by too many requests, and allows for more balanced use across all API consumers.
○ Authentication and authorization capabilities verify the identity of users and provide access
to APIs accordingly.
