Junior Consultant
-What is a Junior Consultant ?
A student selected from a 5 Year program of study carried out after the
baccalaureate/degree For the qualification of “Food Engineer”
-The “Food Engineer “ program within a Grand Ecole / Higher Technical University , is
internationally renowned leading qualification, covering the fundamental sciences
during a intense program the first 3 years before streaming into a specialism , such as
food nutrition , management , manufacturing ,Process Engineering , marketing ,or
agroecology .
- What do they do
The Junior consultant carry's out a program of work which includes applied science
content for a Client , either at the company or externally dependent on the challenge
-This program of work is for a period of 5-6 months
-The program is supported by one of more of the NFI associates as a mentor to ensure
that both the client receives a cost effective applied science project, and student gets
sufficiently challenged during the period
NOTE One of the differentiators in the program is that typical tutorial times within a Food Engineer program are 38 t0 45 hours per week , which is double a typical UK
food science graduate undertake

NFI- Recruitment and selection
Would first draw up the outline of the project and with the client, following appropriate briefing
- Promote the the internship opportunity through the the Grand Ecole/ Higher Technical University
network – this is best done 4 months before the required dates
- Depending on timing ,but the main start dates are February and July
- Shortlist the applicants and video Interview and select
- We would help get the student prepared for the project by research and insight gathering
NFI – During the course of the project :-
- Provide mentorship the student to develop a full plan , provide additional insight , options and
consideration
- Support access to Science / market landscaping of the topic **
- provide open access support with monthly mentorship reviews covering both aspects of the
project and workplace skills
Costs –Junior Consultants
We provide a fully funded Junior consultant at a monthly cost of £2000 plus VAT
Plus travel costs and subsistence, and access to research were required
