IdeologyAn all male cover star shoot, emphasising the power of males that is a common a stereotype amongst society. Their pose being cool and relaxed, leaned onto one leg, whilst the lead singer is almost heading towards the readers without a care in the world, showing confidence and dominance represented amongst many male artists. All this is ironic really, we are supposed to be living in a  revolution of equality yet men are still seen to be superior to woman even if it is not as blunt a statement as it used to be. When a male covers a magazine issue, this belief is prominent.Lots of casual black leather jackets, and black sleeveless tank tops have been used. You see no whites used within the costumes. Giving the Cover Stars a  cool, hip look to the viewers, whilst also portraying the gothic look the band themselves are known for . Simultaneously keeping the theme of the magazine.    The props used are a giant heavy chain, a car exhaust and a wooden plank. All of which are man made products. Representing hard work, strength and labour. All related to men and their stereotyped strength. The fact the band hold these i props makes them look strong and masculine., Men are seen to build things, play with cars and the chains are used to represent strength and stability. The article on them revolves around the mischievous stunts they get up to that involve drugs and sex. Which relates back to the genre of the magazine where sex, drugs and Rock ‘n’ Roll is often a common Rock saying.   There are several different articles that cover artists and current issues taking place in the music industry of rock. All have been capitalised to emphasise their important.  All the content that is in the magazine that is advertised on the front is capitalised and coloured differently from the background, highlighting the importance of the stories.    The Coverlines are red, as if to say that the articles are “red” hot. And therefore important. Only the artists names have had this effect used on them, this is because fans and reader want to know who in the issue, not necessarily what is in the issue detail for detail.
