It establishes the framework for developing, implementing, coordinating, and enforcing national labour policies and laws. The key areas of national labour policy include employment and training, labour protection, inspection, and relations. Labour administration covers activities related to labour, employment, information/research, and labour-management relations. At the central level in India, the Ministry of Labour is responsible for administration and the Chief Labour Commissioner's office assists with enforcement. Other agencies include social insurance organizations, a labour education board, and industrial tribunals.
