The LINCS Vocabulary Strategy is a 5-step method for learning new vocabulary words. The steps are: 1) List the parts of the word, 2) Identify a reminding word, 3) Note a linking story, 4) Create a linking picture, 5) Self-test. The strategy uses notecards with the word circled on the front and its definition, a reminder sentence, and picture on the back to help commit the word and its meaning to memory.
