Location Recce
These are the locations that I’ll be using
Bedroom
This is the bedroom that I’ll be using for my video. It is ideal for
filming in because of the space so I can successfully achieve the shots
that I want to get. I like this room in particular because I can show
the deterioration of the man from the same camera angle, which will
exaggerate his physical change where nothing else has changed at all.
This also means I have space to get different angles of things
happening around him while he is unable to move. The fact that the
room can appear to look like as stereotypical girls room can also
suggest that the protagonist is not feeling himself at all.
Field
I have decided to use this field in particular because it is fairly local to
where I live and therefore is easily accessible. The field is fairly big
and next to the forest and therefore I can film both the shots of Evan
playing football with his friends and the separate shots of Evan in the
forest and Andy and Jack in the forest later on in the video.
Beach
I decided to use fairly general locations like the forest and beach
because after researching the singer-songwriter genre I discovered
that the videos are fairly easy for the audience to interpret for
themselves. Being lucky enough to live near both the beach and the
forest I can use both so that people are more able to relate to one of
these locations.
The beach is a popular spot for all people so to use it in my video
means that the video is believable and it’s also easy to film there.
Corridor
For this location, I wanted the corridor to look fairly clinical, almost
like Andy was visiting the hospital. Of course it would be extremely
hard to film in an actual hospital, and I’d have to get the permission
of others to have them in it. This corridor still looks clinical because
of the white rooms but allows me to film without distractions.
