The document describes various locations that were used for filming a movie opening. It discusses searching Google Images for inspiration, then filming in a school math corridor and its toilets. Different lighting conditions were tested in the corridor. Another location, a youth center toilet, provided more spacious filming conditions than the school toilet. A lift was also used for its suspenseful movement and camera angle opportunities during filming.

As inspiration for our locations, we used Google images to search for
images that were similar to the ideas we had in our minds as a group.
When we had found several images, we chose the best one and
attempted to create a location similar to that in the photograph. The image
on the left is what we decided on after searching Google Images. We then
created a similar photograph which is shown on the right.
The corridor scene was still done in school as it was our first time filming
and we had permission to film on that occasion.

Lights on Lights off
Location: St. Anne’s school maths corridor
To experiment with lighting, we took images with the lights on and off to
see which would look better. As we initially thought, the location looks
better and suits our movie opening more when the lights are off.

This toilet was suitable for our scenes as it is very spacious and also has
a wide mirror. We found this toilet to be better than Saint Anne’s School’s
toilet. This is because at our school, the space between the toilet and the
mirror was very narrow, causing us to film inside the toilet at times. This
made it more challenging to film. However, the toilet at the youth centre
had enough space, as evident, to film without any barriers.

6. We found that the lift gives a
suspenseful effect as it’s slow in
movement. Also, it allowed us to
use different camera angles
(CCTV: downwards tilt and
upwards tilt in the non-CCTV
scenes). This is why we decided to
Location: St. Anne’s corridor double doors
Location: St. Anne’s toilet doors use it. It was very easy to use as
there was a button which allowed
us to stop at any time which meant
that we could go back up or down
if we needed to re-film.
7. These buttons were useful when we
needed to re-film a certain scene.
However, it was seen as an issue to
the filmer as they had to film (holding
the camera) and press the button at
the same time. This was inconvenient.
