The evolution of Nintendo over the years shows how sports games have
developed over the present time. From the pixelated sonic games on the
Nintendo 64 using a traditional controller , evolving into the better graphics
games of the GameCube still using a traditional controller and now currently
the Nintendo Wii which uses a motion sensor camera to pick up the
movement of the player making your body the controller as well as a motion
sensing remote control. Making the gaming experience so physical has opened
up possibilities to do more with games…

“It has been shown that action video game players have better hand-eye
coordination and visual-motor skills, such as their resistance to distraction, their
sensitivity to information in the peripheral vision and their ability to count briefly
presented objects, than non-players” (Green, S & Bavelier, D. 2003).

Your hand-eye coordination must be stellar even if you are a mediocre athlete;
one minor miscalculation can be disastrous (Bragg, N. 2012).
“Most video games involve team work, and quick decision making. Many
video games improve skills and abilities, such as; problem-solving abilities,
faster hand-to-eye coordination, multi-tasking, better planning, estimation,
analysis, strategic thinking and quick thinking skills.” (Epicsuace101. 2011).
