Narrative Summary
Plot Summary: Evie and Bella are best friends and used to go to school together. They are the
quieter ones in the year and then there are the ‘popular’ kids, who are typically spoilt and some
from wealthy families. James and Georgia, siblings from the school, are holding a massive party at
the end of the term, for James’ birthday. Evie’s two brothers fancy Georgia and so end up going to
the party, leaving Evie home to do the chores. She decides to go for a walk instead, out of selfpity, and manages to bump into a stranger (James). Bella tries to help Evie by meeting up with
Vanessa, who is rumoured to be an enchantress. Evie lacks a decent dress and
so, eventually, Vanessa fixes this by creating one from an old dress. Evie goes to the party, trying to
have a good time and find the boy from the park, but also has to avoid the two brothers. As she is
spying on the brothers, Evie bumps into James, further gaining his attention and interest.
Meanwhile, Adam (James’ best mate, who can act arrogant, vain and disrespectful) is caught
bullying/in a fist fight by Vanessa. She places a curse on him, of which he must find love in another
before his 18th birthday, or his appearance shall have flaws for the rest of his life. James starts
falling for Evie, but starts worrying as she keeps disappearing and never calling him. He is left with
just a bracelet, that she dropped when she ran out on the party. James confronts Bella about
this, however she ends up shouting at Adam as he accidently runs into her. Impressed by her and
feeling sorry, He apologises and sits down, spends some time with her. James eventually finds
Evie, after the brothers were unsuccessful of trying to distract and confuse him. Bella and Adam
seems to build a relationship, however they break up after she finds him fist fighting with one of
Evie’s brothers. Regretful, he begs for another chance. After few more make-ups and life lessons
learnt, Bella finally gives in and tells Adam that she forgives him. (side note: focusing on Evie’s
story- due to more storyline conventions and rom-com/drama scenes)
