MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) allow unlimited participation and open access via the Internet. The first MOOC launched in 2008, emerging from the open education movement. MOOCs can be connectivist, designed for connectivity like George Siemens' CMOOC, or xMOOCs focused on content delivery. This document also outlines topics to be covered in a MOOC about oceans, including underwater phenomena, ocean safety, sea creatures, lifeguard techniques, and health for sailors.
