World Environment Day, or WED, is an United Nations-sponsored World Environment Day, h eld annually during the week of June 5.

A single large tree can release up to 400 gallons of water into the atmosphere each day.
Avocados have the highest calories of any fruit at 167 calories per hundred grams.
The fallen trees and limbs in the bush - otherwise known as deadfall - play an important part in nourishing the forest.

Trees with hollows or crevices provide important natural sites for many protected species

The health benefits of lime include weight loss, skin care, good digestion, relief from constipation, eye care, and treatment of scurvy, piles, peptic ulcer, respiratory disorders, gout, gums, urinary disorders

One acre of trees absorbs enough carbon dioxide per year to match that emitted by driving a car 26,000 miles.
Even though the culinary world considers them to be vegetables, peppers are actually fruits from the species Capsicum annuum.

Extreme examples of the Ginkgo's tenacity may be seen in Hiroshima, Japan, where six trees growing between 1–2 km from the 1945 atom bomb explosion were among the few living things in the area to survive the blast

Rainforests are important because they provide us with oxygen and help to regulate the world's climate and atmosphere.

Along with a high amount of potassium, Broccoli also contains magnesium and calcium that help regulate blood pressure.

Historically, agricultural development was geared towards increasing productivity and exploiting natural resources, but ignored complex interactions between agricultural activities, local ecosystems, and society.

Froglife is a national wildlife charity committed to the conservation of amphibians and reptiles
Feeding wild animals makes them dependent upon human food, which will ultimately lead them to starve when humans are not around (usually during winter).

Once upon a time, the world was green and pleasant with grasslands and forests, clean rivers and pure lake. But, with passage of time we have become more materialistic and are forgetting everything.
Try to find out if there are any endangered animals or plants living in your country. If so, what is being done to help them survive?
