2. Introduction
Chhattisgarh is one of the greenest state
in India with its total forest cover of thirty
percent. It has three famous National
parks and the wildlife thrives in the
extensive forests.
The 3 National parks are-
• Bastar Myna National Park
• Guru Ghasidas National Park
• Kanger Valley National Park
4. Bastar Myna National park is named after
the bird Bastar myna which has got the
honored of being named as the state bird. It
is a very famous due to its impressive
specialty in whistling, mimicking, fancy vocal
sounds, human vocal sounds, gurgles,
screeches and squawks . This place also has
the existence of Sal, teak and bamboo trees
along with Barking deer, Chital, Leopards,
Sambar, Chinkara, and many other animals&
reptiles .
6. Guru Ghaisdas National park is located opposite
Kanger, Chhattisgarh. It is named after state’s
Satnami hero Ghaisdas. It is part of contiguous
forest belt between two tiger reserve i.e. Palamau
in Jharkhand and Bandhavgarh in Madhya Pradesh
. The region consists of a wide variety of mammal
population. Tigers, Leopards, Chital, Nilgai,
Chinkara, Jackals ,Porcupine, Monkey, Bison,
Striped Hyena, Sloth Bear, are some of the
common species found in this region. It is also an
ideal place to watch migratory birds.
8. Kanger Valley National Park derives its
name from Kanger river. It covers 200
square kilometer which is the best place
and famous amongst wildlife enthusiast
with reference to flora and fauna. It is
located at Bastar at the bank of the river
Khola river at a distance from 27 km from
Jagdalpur. It is land for leopards, deer,
hyena, flying squirrel and various other
mammals.
