Manager – Pediatric Clinics 2003 – 2015; Minnetonka/Maple Grove, MN
18 Registered Nurses and 3 Customer Service Representatives direct reports and physicians.
• Facilitated clinical leadership experiences with 1-2 nursing student a year, providing clinical experience for the student nurse’s
senior leadership course.
• Clinic educator and provided training on new medical techniques, new program, quality processes and changes operations.
• Developed the clinic schedules for nurses and customer service staff and efficiently planned and implement changes in the
schedule to ensure correct staffing in the clinic on a daily basis.
• Monitored clinic room use, occupancy, equipment, supplies, and workload to maximize efficiency and ensure smooth patient flow.
• Reviewed physician templates/scheduled clinic time annually to improve future templates. The templates were reviewed to plan
for service expansion and ensure patient wait times remained low.
• Implemented the Spina Bifida Program, Club Foot Program, and Peristeen
• Program in the Minnetonka Clinic in 2015.
• Collaborated with a team of managers to develop and implement the Organization Wide Growth and Development Program using
Nurse Practitioners. The program was developed to clear the orthopedic physician’s schedules of simple orthopedic injuries and
early childhood gait/walking diagnoses. The allowed more complicated orthopedic patient was seen in a timely manner.
• Effectively managed staffing for the PMR Physician practice allowing the physician to see a higher volume of patient during their
scheduled time in the clinic.
• Manager selected to start the current Outpatient Managers Meeting group.
• Collaborated with facilities, marketing and administration to develop two new clinics (Burnsville and Maple Grove) and remodel
the Minnetonka Clinic. The two new clinics allowed the organization of services to new areas in the community and room to
expand services in Minnetonka.
• Implemented outcome measurements for the Peristeen Program to measure patient/family satisfaction with the new protocol for
bowel management. Resulting data showed great satisfaction with the program.
• Team member for Orthopedic Spine Outcomes Committee to develop outcome measurements to show insurance companies the
success and satisfaction of the program. The committee developed a survey that was given to spine patients to complete to
measure outcomes.
• Clinic used RNs to refill Baclofen Pumps, with a special protocol to refill pumps. In 12 years there were 0 adverse safety
events/errors during pump refills.
• Co-Chair of the Patient No Show Committee recommended, help select and implement a program called Dialog Health, a text
messaging system to notify patients of their upcoming appointment.
• Managed and worked in the small triage department within clinic. The triage nurse responded to patient/family care questions,
urgent patient issues and assisted in scheduling or changing clinic appointments.
METHODIST HOSPITAL
