Concerns about natural light, breeze, and space usage determined the form of the building. Key features include a circular staircase, classrooms tailored for different age groups, and building elements used as teaching aids. • Nisha’s play school is

retained as a play
ground while the main
building was built on
slope, balancing cut and
fill.
• Concerns of bringing in
natural light , westerly
breeze and maximizing
the use of space were
instrumental in
determining the
eventual form.
4. •It is within this form
that layers of spatial
experience were
added by the
insertion of a
circular staircase
with a chute.
•Each classroom has
a space for teaching
in front of a
blackboard and
informal work area
at tables or on the
floor.
5. •There is also doll house –
a separate space children
play with each other
without supervision.
•Each classroom
corresponds in sale to the
particular user’s age
group and is different
from the other.
• Elements of the building
have been used as
teaching aids to
communicate idea of
form and colour.
6. • Where ever you may turn head
inside this school you'll find the
earthy brick wall and the splashes of
bright yellow, ink blue ans cherry red.
•Metal art crafts of butterfly and
broken tiles 3D murals on various
walls add aesthetic to the space.
•The sunlight is used the most with
grilled open windows and ventilation
through Yellow circular openings
found on the upper level of every side
of the building.
•A library, music room, clinic,
computer room, play ground and
dining area are the other area
provided.

• Some class rooms have entrances dimensions to the anthropometric of a child,
adults have to stoop to enter.
