Neuro Linguistic Programming in Elt
BACKGROUND
NLP is a neurolinguistic based method which is
designed for different purposes by Richard
Bandler and John Grinder (1970’s.)
Bandler and Grinder claim that, there is a
connection between the neurological process
and our linguistic capacity.
What is Neurolingustic Programming?
It is a psychological technique which works by
altering our behavioral patterns that helps us
to improve in all aspects of our life.
• Neuro: It refers to the nervous system,
where our experiences are received and
processed through our five senses.
• Linguistic: It refers to our languages, both
verbal and non-verbal.
• Programming: It is used as a computer
metaphor to explain our ability to discover
and use the programs that we all mentally
run.
This is done by using a combination of
language and neurological processes.
But how ?
Six Directions (VAK)
The six directions
represent;
