“BOOKING.COM”)

INTRODUCTION
• Booking.com is a travel fare aggregator website and travel
metasearch engine for lodging reservations. Booking.com
invests in digital technology that helps take the friction out
of travel, with a focus on continuous innovation. Their
development platform is fully based on OpenNebula in order
to manage their virtual environments.
• The website has 28,425,726 listings in 148,470 destinations
in 228 countries and territories worldwide. Each day more
than 1,550,000 room nights are reserved on the website. The
site is available in 43 languages. Its slogan is "Homes, houses
and everything in between", although in commercials it is
"Booking.com: Booking.yeah"

it was revealed that criminals were able to obtain customer details from
the website.
Booking.com said it was countering the fraudsters and refunding
customers from the UK, US, France, Italy, the UAE and Portugal, all of
which had been affected.

Overview: Booking.com
• Booking.com was formed when bookings.nl, founded in 1996 by Geert-Jan
Bruinsma, merged in 2000 with Bookings Online, founded by Sicco and
Alec Behrens, Marijn Muyser and Bas Lemmens, which operated as
Bookings.org. The name and URL were changed to Booking.com and Stef
Noorden was appointed as its CEO.
• In August 2012, Ctrip, a Chinese online travel company, formed a
partnership with the company to allow Ctrip to access Booking.com's global
portfolio.The partnership was deepened in June 2018.
• In February 2013, Panorama Group, Indonesia's largest tour and travel
company, formed a strategic partnership with Booking.com to access
Booking.com’s portfolio of hotels. In October 2014, Ural Airlines formed a
partnership with Booking.com.

Overview: OpenNebula
The OpenNebula Project was started as a research venture in 2005
by Ignacio M. Llorente and Ruben S. Montero. The first public release of
the software occurred in 2008. The goals of the research were to create
efficient solutions for managing virtual machines on distributed
infrastructures. It was also important that these solutions had the ability to
scale at high levels. Open-source development and an active community of
developers have since helped mature the project. As the project matured it
began to become more and more adopted and in March 2010 the primary
writers of the project founded C12G Labs, now known as OpenNebula
Systems, which provides value-added professional services to enterprises
adopting or utilizing OpenNebula.

METHODOLOGY
How does Booking.com using OpenNebula provide solution to the
stated problems?
Booking.com has made changes so data can only be accessed from a
computer linked to the hotel's server. Its teams have also worked to
"take down" dozens of phishing sites, as well as working with some
banks to freeze the money mule bank accounts.
Using Booking .com App, you can achieve the same i.e. create a
system to sell different types of products (rental products, appointment
bookings, single day booking & concert bookings). In case you want a
separate platform for your booking business then, the same can be
achieved using Booking Commerce as well.
Provide the option to create price rules based on which you can set a
different slot price for the same product or services.

OpenNebula is used to implement different types of cloud deployments,
