My Six Points Hope Persistence Confidence Optimism Respect Accountability
Hope no human life is without problems hope is what business provides Hope is a feeling you hope for before you DO SOMETHING hope is a feeling that you feel after you have acted on something usually a feeling does not just happen, it is the result of an act
Persistence if you persist you will succeed you will never know what you might accomplish until you try (that truth is so simple that some people completely overlook it) If you are willing to stumble and fall and still keep on going, then you will succeed. If you get knocked down 100 times, yet jump up and say, "here goes 101" then you will succeed. there is a difference between persistence and stubbornness. Stubbornness leads to the dead ends of foolish and unproductive behaviour; persistence moves you forward. once you set a goal and decide to pursue it with all your heart, then the next step is to calculate the cost decisions that inflict no pain, or require no commitment, or are pursued without passion or persistence, seldom result in a real reward. If you know in advance that the pursuit of your goal will require both time and commitment, then you will not be deterred later. if I had listened to some of my friends, or critics, Julie and I would never have started anything persistence comes from a deep place in the soul. It is a God given compensation for what we lack in other areas of our life. Never under estimate its power.
Confidence one of life's great ironies is the fact that people who shoot low are often great shots. They aim for nothing and usually hit it. The most powerful forces in the world can be those who dare to aim high and keep on practising until they hit their target. confidence is the fuel of persistence -- if you don't believe in your potential to reach a goal, then you probably won't keep on trying confidence is both a choice and a gift. If you didn't receive the gift, then you can make the choice. And when you make the choice, you receive the gift don't let others transfer their fears to you don't wait until you know enough, if you do that you will never begin
Optimism pessimism is seldom disappointed (if you expect something to turn out badly, it probably will) if you expect good things to happen, they usually do! There seems to be a natural cause and effect relationship between optimism and success there is enough good and bad in everybody's life to find a rational basis for either optimism or pessimism I choose to highlight the positive and skip right over the negative optimistic attitude is not luxury; it's a necessity in the absence of optimism we are left with nothing but critics, and prophets of doom. "When a nation expects the worst from its people and institutions and it is experts focus exclusively on faults, hope dies" too many people spend too much time looking down rather than up, finding fault with everything -- worst of all -- each other the problem arises when we make critics our heroes. When we empower the critic more than the playwright, something is wrong. pessimism leads to paralysis and inaction
Respect the man who becomes a great leader usually has a respect for his followers that is as deep and real as the respect for him respect begins with knowing who you are -- every person is a human being created in the image of God with a purpose and place in life. respect is what makes the world go around respect is not something you demand. It has to be earned. people who respect other people usually have the most followers
Accountability everyone is accountable to someone accountability is as a old as the garden of Eden scapegoating has become a national pastime only when we take full responsibility for our actions can we shed the burdens of our mistakes and go forward who are you accountable to? right down the days of the week and next to that's what you did each day. it amazes me how many people sit at home or in the pub excusing themselves from their dreams because of this or that. You are not unique. Everyone has challenges and you are no exception. Stop making excuses. Remind yourself why you are in business, get out there and just do it.
