Pia's Metaphor

Research is like a tree that grows with efficient data gathering providing strong foundations, or can be cut down without it. Researchers must collect useful data to nourish the research, allowing growth and eventual success represented by fruits/findings. Research is also like the color black, starting vague but with goals to find clarity through narrowing topics and understanding, represented by moving from darkness to light.

Similar to a tree, research can either grow or be c u t down. Its progress depend on the ability of the researchers to gather efficient and useful data in order to make a solid foundation. These data represent the nutrition needed in order for growth to take place. If ready, fruits will be produced, an indication of their success.

Black symbolizes vagueness. In a research, one of the goals is to narrow down topics and metamorphically find the light. The researcher is able to figure things out and do his study smoothly.
