Ubiqi Health provides mobile and web-based disease management tools to help people better understand and manage their conditions. It started by creating a migraine tracker app and has since expanded to other conditions. The migraine tracker app has over 8,000 users worldwide who have provided useful data on treatments, triggers and demographics. Ubiqi Health is now partnering with healthcare providers and companies to offer more condition-specific tools and increase engagement through social networking features and integration with external data sources.

to

of
their

now
partnering

enables
organizations
to
engage

through
branded

disease
management
tools
that
are
patient-‐centric,
easy-‐to-‐use,
and
are
accessible
anytime

INNOVATION
RESULTS:
Since
launching
in
late
November
2010,
Ubiqi
Health’s
first
application,
Migraine
Tracker,
has
reached
an
installed
user
base
of
over
8,000
migraine
sufferers
from
around
the
world.
Our
key
findings:
Utilization
rates:
encouraging,
but
we
could
still
do
better!
25%
of
our
users
have
logged
at
least
five
entries
and
5%
of
our
users
have
made
at
least
20
entries.
Demographics:
age
and
gender
groups
reflect
similar
demographics
for
migraine
population;
however,
surprisingly
only
55%
of
our
users
reside
in
the
United
States,
with
7%
residing
in
India
Top
treatments
cited:
abortive
medication,
inactivity,
darkness
Top
triggers
cited:
stress,
change
in
weather,
change
in
sleep
patterns
The
key
conclusions
that
we
have
drawn
from
reviewing
user
data,
and
surveying
and
interviewing
our
users
over
the
past
10
months
are:
Engagement
levels
are
highest
when
the
patient
knows
that
she
is
sharing
her
information
with
another
person,
most
frequently,
her
care
provider,
but
also
with
family
and
friends.
To
support
this,
Ubiqi
Health
is
integrating
social
networking
functionality
into
our
platform.
Trigger
tracking
and
pattern
recognition
is
a
key
reason
people
use
Ubiqi
Health.
Given
the
common
triggers
cited,
we
plan
to
support
integration
with
external
data
sources
(e.g.,
weather
data
and
sleep
monitoring
tools)
to
further
enhance
understanding
of
triggers.
