Santos and Mockus have differing economic platforms in Colombia's presidential election. [1] Santos proposes not raising taxes or creating new ones, improving tax collection, and creating 3 million jobs. Mockus proposes new taxes and higher income and VAT rates to address fiscal deficits. [2] Their social proposals also differ: Santos aims to double social housing construction and ensure free education, while Mockus promotes social housing land policy and structural health system reforms through dialogue.
