QUESTION 3: WHAT HAVE
YOU LEARNT FROM YOUR
AUDIENCE FEEDBACK?
QUESTIONNAIRE BEFORE PRODUCTION
Whilst we were still developing
our film plot I created a
questionnaire in which we
would ask 10 people to
complete it to find out further
information about our target
audience. This then meant that
we would see how many people
would like the plot that we had
come up with which gave us an
idea of if we needed to change
anything. The results were that
over half of the responders had
said that they would like watch
the film with our plot.
FILM POSTER FEEDBACK
When drafting my poster I had feedback from my target
audience where as a group they decided as a whole I was a
level 3 which was a B/C. The improvements suggested was
that the billing block was too big and so was the title. There
was also suggestion of a new tag line. With these changes
made improved my poster, it is important to listen to your
target audience as they give advice on what they would
actually want to see and therefore receiving target audience
feedback is essential.
When out group did the focus group all the audience
members said that my poster was a psychological thriller
and all of the audience said that my poster represented the
trailer well due to the image that I had chosen on the
imaginary friend and Morgan in the mirror with the point of
view shot of Morgan. The feedback I received for my poster
was positive and overall I learnt that I had represented the
trailer and genre well

FILM MAGAZINE
COVER
FEEDBACK
In the focus group some of the audience
said that my image was confusing
because the main character was holding
the mask in his hand which could
suggests that they are trying to hide
something. They also said that it did
represent the genre of psychological
thriller “in the sense that you put on a
mask to hide your self” but they said it
did not represent the trailer that well.
They also said that the sell lines took up
too much focus rather than it being fully
on the picture. Therefore when reflecting
on these comments I decided to make
the image a lot larger and reduce the
amount of sell lines on the page. By
doing this I could see a huge difference
in the product and I feel that I have
improved it. Therefore the audience
feedback that I received was very
important and I learnt that they were
more interested in the image on the
cover rather than the other stories which

TRAILER FEEDBACK
As a group we received positive feedback from the film trailer, after speaking
to the group as a whole they agreed that the genre of the trailer was
psychological thriller, one person said “because of the constant presence
following him but he cant do anything about it”. The audience has said that
the key scenes that they thought from the trailer was the psychiatrist scene
and the scene in the car where the female bully is ringing her friend as a form
of comfort because Morgan is following her. Overall the feedback we received
for the trailer was good, this meant that from the audience feedback we learnt
that our trailer was quite successful due to the narrative being clear and the
genre being clear along with key scenes which the audience had suggested
and that when asked if they would see this film in the cinema more than half
of them said yes which shows that we were successful. The improvements that
were suggested was to make the non-diegetic music quieter when there was
dialogue within the trailer.
FOCUS GROUP QUESTIONNAIRE FEEDBACK
The most important questions that we wanted feedback on was what the audience thought the
genre of the trailer was where 50% of the responders answered psychological thriller which was
positive as it showed that our trailer had elements of this and therefore we were successful in
portraying the genre. One person said they thought this because of the “constant battle in his
head”. 100% of the responders said that they would watch this film in the cinema which was also
positive. It was also evident that all responders understood what the trailer was trying to
represent where one person said that it represented “a boy who is tormented by his peers who is
then assisted by an entity to help take revenge on those who did him wrong” The most
significant scene the audience said was the psychiatrist scene where it is shown how Morgan is
CONCLUSION
Audience feedback has been very valuable to my group in the
process of creating our film trailer, film magazine and film
poster. I constantly referred back to my target audience to
ensure that I was creating a product in which they would like
which helped me to understand what they wanted. I used the
criticism from the focus group to improve my products and I feel
that overall my products are successful.
