The primary audience for the magazine would be African teenagers aged 16 and older from low-income backgrounds, as research found the readership was mostly male Africans between those ages with a yearly income under £11,000. A secondary audience would be 16-18 year olds interested in hip hop but not regular readers, to encourage them to read more about their music idols. An older audience would also be targeted to make them aware of new hip hop artists.
2. WHO WOULD BE THE AUDIENCE FOR
YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT?
The main audience for my magazine of my magazine is going to
be 16 and above according to my primary research. The gender
for my hip-hop magazine turn out to be more males then females
and their ethnicity was mostly Africans. This means my magazine
needs to appeal to African teenagers.
My survey asked the question what your current income yearly
and the majority of the people picked- no income to £11 000. this
means my magazine needs to be cheap in order for my target
audience to be abled to afford it.
3. WHO WOULD BE THE AUDIENCE
FOR YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT?
My secondary audience is going to be people who don’t always
read but are interested in hip-hop. This audience will be 16 to 18
years old since they love hip-hop but don’t tend to read magazines
yet. This means I would be trying to appeal to them and try
encourage this audience to read more about their role modals,
since they already follow they role modals fashions and styles.
Furthermore, I will also try to get an older audience to read my
magazines to help them be aware of new and up coming hip hop
stars.
4. WHO WOULD BE THE AUDIENCE
FOR YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT?
I have chosen this image as my front
cover since it lets my magazine
appeal to my target audience . This is
because my target audience is going
to be around the same age as the
cover modal and would have a similar
ethnic background.
