The rainforest is located around the world in tropical areas. It receives high precipitation daily and has an average temperature of 80 degrees Fahrenheit. The trees are tall, ranging from 127 to 660 cm in height. Abiotic factors like water, sunlight, climate and weather affect the millions of animal and plant species living in the rainforest. A food chain shows producers, primary consumers, secondary consumers and tertiary consumers transferring energy as they consume each other. The water, carbon and nitrogen cycles continuously circulate these elements between the atmosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere and lithosphere. Environmental issues facing the rainforest include deforestation which causes habitat loss for many species. Solutions to protect the rainforest involve reducing deforestation
2. Facts About My
BiomeAverage Temperature: 80 Degrees Fahrenheit
Highs & Lows: They are in the highs because they have about 1 million or so animals and
plants that live there.
Seasons: Spring, Summer, & Fall
Average Precipitation: The trees are tall at the average at 127 and 660 cm in height, They
receive lots of rain because it is very hot.
Location: It usually rains everyday, they are located mostly everywhere around the world.
3. Abiotic and Biotic
Factors
Abiotic:The amounts of water and sunlight,
Climate weather sometimes affects the animals
that live there.
Biotic: Sunlight, Temperature, Soil, & Water
4. Defining Terms
Producer: A person company,or animal that makes it’s own food & supplies
Primary Consumer: (In the food chain) An animal that feeds on plants
Secondary Consumer: (In the food chain) A carnivore that feeds only upon
herbivores
Tertiary Consumers: A carnivore at the topmost level in a food chain that feds
on other carnivores
Decomposers: An organism especially a soil bacterium, fungus, or invertebrate,
that decomposes organic material
Saprophytes: A plant, fungus, or microorganism that lives dead or decaying
organic matter
6. Water Cycle/Carbon
Cycle/Nitrogen
Cycle
Water Cycle: The cycle of processes which water circulates
betweens Earth’s ocean, atmosphere, and land.
Carbon Cycle: The series of precesses by which carbon
compounds are inter converter in the environment.
Nitrogen Cycle: The series of processes by which nitrogen
and its compounds are interconverted in the environment
and in living organisms.
8. Environmental
Issues
What Environmental Issues Is The Rainforest
Facing?People cutting down thousands of trees.
What Is Causing The Problem? 60-70% of the
animals die a year.
What Are Some Of The Solutions To Protect The
Rainforest? One of the solutions is by not cutting
any more trees in the forest.
