Meteorites are meteoroids that pass through Earth's atmosphere and hit the surface. Meteoroids come from comets or asteroids and produce streaks of light called meteors as they burn up in Earth's atmosphere. Asteroids revolve around the sun in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, and some asteroids come near Earth's orbit, posing an impact risk. A large asteroid impact 65 million years ago may have caused the extinction of the dinosaurs.

Definitions: Meteorite:A meteoroid that has hit EARTHS surface. Meteoroid:A chunk of rock or dust in space. Meteor: A streak of light in the sky produced by the burning of a meteroit in EARTHS atmosphere. Asteroids: Objects revolving around the sun that are too small and too numerous to be concidered planets.
Meteors
Meteorites are meteoroids that pass through atmosphere and hit earth’s surface. If meteoroid is big enough it might not burn completely. Craters on moon and on objects in solar system were caused by meteoroids.
Meteorites fall on Earth. The majority of them looks just like stones so nobody recognize or notice them. A few meteorites are almost entirely made up of iron and nickel, so is quite easy to recognize them as meteorites (because they are heavy), other than rocky stones.

Meteoroid is a piece of rock or dust in space. Usually come from comets or asteroids.
When a comet breaks, forms a cloud of dust that continues to move through out the solar system. When a meteoroid enters Earths atmosphere, friction makes it burn up and produces streak of light that you see in sky. (meteor)
Asteroids Asteroid Definition: Most asteroids revolve around the sun between the orbits of mars and jupiter. This region of the solar system,is known as asteroid belt.astronomers had found more than 10,000.
Asteroids Holes are due to the different kind of impact done from different asteroids. Asteroid Belt=Distance between the inner and outer planets.
Asteroid Information Some Asteroids come near the orbit of earth. Some day one of these near earth asteroids could hit earth. A large asteroid hit earth 65 million years ago, it exploded making 200 KM in diameter on the Yucatan Penisula of Mexico. Debris from the explosion probably started huge fiers and destroyd much of earth forests. Scietjects have hypothyzed that as a result many species of organisms including the dinosaurs became extint. These objects called ASTEROIDS are too small and too numerous to be considered full lenghed planets.
