Skype may be installed on your University computer , but if
you would like to install on your home computer/
smartphone:
Go to http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/get-skype/
Find the appropriate ‘Get Skype for…’, and allow the
programme to extract itself.

Setting Up an Account
Go to http://www.skype.com/ & click:
You can register using your Facebook account, or follow
the straightforward instructions.
2. Defining Your Profile
Go to Skype Profile Edit Profile
Ensure you add a picture,; information ‘About Me’.
Finding Contacts
Go to ‘Contacts’ ‘Add a contact’
You can search for contacts via
their email address, name, or
(most efficiently), if you know
their Skype name.
Have a Conversation
Click on a user
Choose whether to have an audio or a video call.
Chat via voice and/or text.
Press the ‘telephone icon’
to end the call.
Group Conversations
Multiple users can talk to
each other via Skype, but
video is only available with a
paid option.
