I will use my company’s
Facebook page to
increase engagement
with current clients and
attract new clients.
I want to use my
LinkedIn profile as an
online portfolio to
share with local pet
businesses and
potential clients.
I plan to use Google + to
establish myself as a
local pet‐sitting/pet‐
care expert and drive
traffic to my blog or
website.
What are basic strategies you can
use to meet these goals?
EXAMPLES:
With these goals and
strategies in place,
what specific actions
(tactics) can you
implement?
Check out these examples...
I will post a client photo of the week/month each
week/month.
I will offer special Facebook-only promos/discounts
quarterly.
I will encourage clients to sign up for my e-mail newsletter
through my social media sites.
Strategy 1:
I will use my company’s Facebook page to increase
engagement with current clients and attract new clients.
Possible tactics:
I will review my profile quarterly to ensure the
information is up-to-date.
I will recommend at least one connection each month on
LinkedIn.
I will request recommendations from at least 1-2 clients,
associates, etc. each month.
I will research and identify 1-3 LinkedIn groups I will join
and participate in this year.
Strategy 2:
I want to use my LinkedIn profile as an online portfolio to
share with local pet businesses and potential clients.
Possible tactics:
I will post to my Google+ account 5-10 times/week.
At least 25% of my posts will includes links to relevant
pages on my website or blog.
I will identify 5-10 influential Google+ users in my area to
follow and correspond with via Twitter.
Strategy 3:
I plan to use Google+ to establish myself as a local pet-
sitting/pet-care expert and drive traffic to my
blog/website.
Possible tactics:
1. Use Google
Analytics: Track referral
traffic to your website
from each social media
site you are using.
2. Log your referral
sources. Ask everyone
who e‐mails or calls “How
did you hear about my
business?”
3. Track redemption of
any promo codes/offers
provided via social media.
4. Cross‐reference repeat
clients with your social
media fans/followers.
Measure your results:
REMEMBER:
If you don’t have a plan and set goals, how will
you know if you are successful?
Your primary social media goal does not have
to be gaining new clients.
