Objectives
Social media is an online form of communication that
allows you to connect, collaborate, influence, engage,
inspire and add value.
There are several forms of Social Media. Each has a specific focus. In
many cases, you could place one network in two (2) or more categories.
1. Blogging -- Wordpress, Blogger
2. Social Network - Facebook, LinkedIn, Google +
3. Social Curating Pinterest, Tumblr, Evernote
4. Microblogging - Twitter, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Instagram
5. Social Bookmarketing - Digg, StumbleUpon, Mixx, Reddit
6. Video Sharing -- Youtube, Vimeo, InstaTV
7. Broader Content Sharing – Slideshare, Scribd
8. Forums -- Yahoo Answers, Ask, Wikipedia
Social media is about communicating, building a
community, being part of other communities; it’s about
educating people, listening to them, and letting them
know all about you, your product / services, your
business philosophy, your integrity and your
organizational culture.
Social Media Capacity Development
Platforms determines the way you structure your message.
Different platforms determines the way the message is coined.
The fact that your product is
selling doesn't mean you have
customer loyalty.
COKE –PEPSI STORY –

internet, buying

begin and often
end their buyer’s
journey online.

SUCCESS IN SOCIAL MEDIA
IS DRIVEN BY
CONTENT DETERMINES THE
WAY PEOPLE REACT OR
RELATE TOYOUR BRAND OR
PRODUCT.
How people see things depends on their perspective. In Social Media Content
is KING! Having viral contents is cool but the most vital aspect of content is
engagement with your product/service that creates leads and conversion.
Content are amplified by CAPTIONS, a
simple caption can generate conversations
from a simple image
WHATWRONG WITH THIS CAPTION?
It Won’t Keep Discussion on Topic When a post is not structured correctly, it opens itself up to
becoming a forum to complain about the brand,. How Could It Have Been Solved?
This post could have been easily improved by changing the copy to read: Which McNuggets dipping
sauce is your favorite? a) BBQ b) honey mustard c) ranch d) teriyaki. When your post is set up as a
question, it steers the direction of comments. Adding a multiple choice option may limit the variety
of answers, but can help make comments even more manageable
Content and caption if creatively put to
use can drive your brand or product
and create engagement
How do you create content that makes your audience share it without fail?
How and when do you share it on social media for maximum results. Your
story should offer something that your audience can relate to, and therefore
create a means by which they can interact with your brand. If your readers
feel something when they read your content, you can bet they’ll want to
share it.
Appeal to your
audience’s motivation to
connect with each other
(not just with your
brand).
Tell a story.
Credibility needs to be
established, as does
trust, which is the cost
of getting shares.
Keep the message
simple.
Appeal to positive
emotions like
inspiration, illumination
or amusement to build a
positive brand
connection.
Embed a sense of
urgency.

Keywords are the foundation of search engine
marketing, they form the basis of search engine.
Did you know that in just February
of last year there were 10.8
BILLION searches done on just
Google alone?
Key Words control search intent. ALWAYS USE KEYWORDS
with high commercial intent, Examples of high commercial intent
keywords include: Buy, Discount(s), Deal(s), Coupon(s), Free
shipping, Clearance Sale,
 The key to making the most of social
media is listening to what your
audience have to say about you, your
competitors, and the market in
general, it’s important to track what
people are saying about you online
What are customers telling friends on social media about
your products or services? Are people with influence talking
about your business? It’s important to know the answer to
those questions
People don’t talk behind backs anymore.
They talk on the Internet for the whole world
to hear. What are people saying about your
brand on review sites?

ORMTIPS
While you can certainly use different strategies, the best way to protect online
reputations is to be proactive.
In Reputation Management, your objective
should be to have content that reflects
your message dominating the first two
pages or more of Google’s search results.
That’s what people will see. So it doesn’t
matter whether it’s showing up on their
site or someone else’s. The more eyes that
see the content and your brand in a
positive light, the better.
Google Alerts allows you to listen to conversations you may not be
aware of. Conversations that involve you or your brand (and maybe
even your competitors). As you manage your online presence, it’s
important to listen to what people are saying and how they are saying it.
You want to know if other sites are linking to you, quoting you,
supporting you, or complaining about you. You want to know what your
competition is up to and how they are faring.
