App Academy Oslo is a startup founded by Inge Andre Sandvik that began as a mobile social jukebox app but evolved into a real-time music platform called Soundrop. Soundrop allows users to discover and share music experiences together across devices. It solves problems for music streaming services and labels by increasing engagement and traffic. The company has grown significantly, raising $3 million from Spotify investors and reaching over 300 million streams. Soundrop offers analytics and promotional tools to help artists and labels connect with fans and accelerate traffic to Spotify. The company's mission is to help people find and enjoy engaging music moments through social collaboration.

Editor's Notes
The music industry is going from a business model where revenue is measured per track sold to how much of the music that is played per month
We want to let the artist and their labels be able to establish a more personal connection with the fans. We want them to be able to leverage on the amazing opportunity the web bring to create a more efficient communication.
Not easy
We have three very straightforward options: Artist chats, label-focused rooms and rooms organized around a theme.
That room was from the House Party with Swedish House Mafia’s Sebastian Ingrosso and his protégé Alesso. They had more than 17,000 people tune in that day, with more than 50,000 join in a few days around the event itself. More than 2.5 million songs were streamed.
