  1. Support a network of Independent (above 15,000) and Rural Libraries Queensland (below 15,000) library services across the State Public Library Grant of $22 million delivered as cash grants for collections with 50% can be used for new library directions Develop more strategic training opportunities for public library staff Limited funding how to maximise the leverage of what we have Need to develop priorities and know where State Library is the broker, disseminator, deliverer of training Important to continue to collaborate across the sector Professional Development needs to assist public libraries to innovate as a core premise

Moodle platform ConnectEd (the online professional development resource for Queensland public librarians) – was launched on 17 October 2013 and provides 24/7 access to online professional development. ConnectEd currently hosts 8 different modules and has approximately 190 unique users. An additional 3 modules are scheduled to go live by 30 October 2014. Based on current growth rates of approximately 10 new users per week projected users at the end of the first year will reach approximately 20% of the identified stakeholder group (stakeholder group identified as Queensland public library staff).
