This document outlines a proposed technology use plan for Gerald Elementary School in Key West, Florida. 14. Planning Process- Getting StartedThe plan needs to be embedded in or supplement the school’s comprehensive school improvement plan

16. The committee would be divided under five specific technology focus areas such as Student Learning (includes technology skills) ,Teacher Preparation and Delivery of Instruction , Administration / Data Management / Communication Processes , Resource Distribution and Use and Technical Support
17. The committee would then be assigned specific and well defined roles and an appropriate team leader would be chosen.

23. Technical Support With the help of tools such as surveys , reports, research material, outside sources, other plans etc we would be able to determine where we currently are and where we want to be.

Planning Process – Goals/ObjectivesIn the process of developing the vision statement, determining where we are now, and where we want to be , we would have identified the areas that are exemplary, adequate and most in need of improvement. The areas identified, as those in need of improvement, would potential goals.

Once these goals are established specific objectives would be planned that are clear, concise, measurable, adaptable to timelines and action plans and are observable.Planning Process-Develop action plans and timelines We would systematically identify each objective and brainstorm activities that would help master that objective. Prioritize the activities and choose several for each objective that are realistic and doable with staff and facilities.

In order to improve confidence, knowledge and enthusiasm amongst teachers with regard to technology use, it is essential…1.provide teachers with abundant opportunities to become fluent in using technology to bolster instruction and help students develop higher-order thinking and problem-solving skills2. Provide Hands-on technology use at school and at home allows teachers to develop confidence in their skills and a comfort level with the technology3. Professional development that utilizes key points from adult learning theory4. Should demonstrate projects in specific curriculum areas and help teachers integrate technology into the content5.
