Blogging has power for educational purposes as it is easy to use with no formal setup or training required, allows easy access privately or freely, and can be used for teaching and learning as well as collaboration through personal spaces and learning communities. However, blogging requires planning and maintenance from facilitators to organize content and monitor discussions, as well as some training for students to keep posts learning-focused to prevent it from becoming overwhelming.
