This document discusses user experience design and why it is important to involve user experience designers from the start of a project. It defines user experience as the holistic satisfaction a user gets from using a product. User experience is multi-disciplinary and involves user research, usability testing, interaction design, visual design and more. The document recommends having different user experience profiles on a team, such as a user researcher, UI designer, and usability tester. It argues that involving designers from the beginning helps understand users and competitors better, improves the product vision, catches issues early, and ensures usability. Measuring user satisfaction through metrics helps capture the value and return on investment of usability.
