Theories of the Universe Steven McGowan
Proficiency #4 I can effectively explain the different theories of the universe. I will discuss theories starting from Ancient Greece through the theories discussed in present day. I will analyze all theories and make a judgment based on my research on which is most valid.
Different theories Big Bang Theory Biblical Creation
Big Bang Theory The Big Bang Theory states that the universe was once very small, and dense. It became very hot, and there was an explosion of gases, It kept expanding, until our universe was what it is today. This can be proven today by scientists because our universe keeps expanding. Other galaxies are moving farther and father away from us.
The Theory of Biblical Creation This theory states that God created the universe, and created people. The first being Adam and Eve. It took him to create all the plants, weather, and other things like that in 6 days. The only thing to back this theory up however, is the bible.
Which one is most reasonable The most reasonable to me, scientists, and many people across the world is the Big Bang Theory. There are more facts to back it up, and it could have happened. I’m not saying god didn’t create the world, but this is the most reasonable way. If you don’t follow the story of Adam and Eve, the most reasonable explanation for people is Darwin’s theory of evolution, which says people have evolved.(see next slide)
Darwin’s Theory of Evolution
This Proficiency For this proficiency, I decided to do a power point because I thought that if I showed this in slides, it would be easiest to understand. At first, I had no idea what I was doing, because I didn’t know much about different theories. Then however, when I started to get an idea on what I had to do, and which theories I wanted to research. Getting the information was hard, because none of these theories are solidly proven. I did find information though, and tried to put this into a presentation the best that I could.
