I created this what I called the top "10 Startup Ecosystem Pillars" or drivers that are important for a startup system to survive and thrive. It's a good framework to use to assess if a country, region or cities' ability to support a startup community.

1. Existence of “entrepreneur” in vocabulary 2. Local success story (e.g. if he/she did it, I can!) 3. Capital (Funding) 4. Talent factory (Universities or education institutions need to be near by) 10. Large companies with assets 5. Spaces to collaborate – from coffee shops to co-working space (and Wi-Fi) 9. Good weather & natural environment 8. Good transportation & infrastructure 7. Government support (e.g. grants) 6.
