  2. Who are we? (Brief introduction to Red Tape Busters Pty Ltd) Shane Bowering started operating Red Tape Busters Pty Ltd. in May 2000 after leaving the Qld Public Service. Our initial target markets were to provide services to public servants in assisting them prepare statements against selection criteria, resumes, covering letters etc and in providing interview coaching. We also provided specialist consultancy services to public transport companies. Red Tape Busters has now expanded with offices in North Brisbane and the Gold Coast with further offices planned initially for South Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast prior to expanding across Queensland and hopefully Australia. We have been fortunate enough to feature regularly in the media on A Current Affair, Brisbane Extra, Courier Mail etc. While we still provide job application writing service and are still specialist consultants to the public transport industry, we now provide a wide variety of services to clients specifically relating to dealing with Councils and Government entities. Our services now include:- Specialist advisors in dealing with Federal, State and Local Government as well as multi-national companies such as banks, insurers, telephone and electricity providers; Represent client interests and negotiate with the public sector; Sourcing Government funding programs and preparing quality submissions; Acting as specialist and independent mediators between clients and bureaucratic entities, neighbourhood disputes, local community issues; Provision of specialists advice and assistance in preparing responses to Government policy and legislative proposals; Provision of business support, advice, mentoring, restructuring guidance, development of marketing strategies as well as the preparation of business plans and strategic plans for business entities; Employee advocates – we represent employees in disputes with employers with regards to grievances, sexual harassment, unfair dismissal proceedings, pay disputes, disciplinary action etc; Preparation of submissions for tenders for Government works and supplies; Public Transport Consultants; and Specialists in preparing job applications for the public sector. Shane spent 17 years in the public service in senior management positions and was involved in allocating funding through Government funding programs as well as chairing hundreds of interview panels through the Government recruitment and selection process. Following this workshop today, should any organisation need further support and assistance regarding to applying for funding, then there are many organisations who specialise in this line of work and RTB is obviously is one of those. Prior to engaging any company or and obviously spending money to do so, you need to be confident that your project warrants obtaining specialised advice, and that’s where this program can help.
