Due to scope, this guide provides some device-specific information. For additional device- specific
configuration, Citrix suggests reviewing the storage vendor‘s documentation, the storage vendor‘s
hardware compatibility list, and contacting the vendor‘s technical support if necessary.
For design best practices and planning guidance, Citrix recommends reviewing the Storage Best
Practices and Planning Guide (http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX130632)
This document provides an overview of how XenServer manages storage supplied to virtual machines. It describes how Linux views physical disks and partitions, as well as logical volume management and network file systems. Citrix XenDesktop 7 provides a unified framework for virtual desktop and application solutions based on a 5-layer model. The blueprint details architectures for standardized desktops, customizable desktops, and applications. It recommends Machine Creation Services for image delivery and defines policies, personalization settings, and control components to meet requirements for different user groups accessing resources from various locations.
XenDesktop relies on the hypervisor for many core functions, including VM creation, power operations, performance and redundancy. Therefore, it is important that you take the time to design an appropriate hypervisor infrastructure (XenServer, Hyper-V or vSphere). Otherwise, you may experience performance, functionality or even reliability issues.
Most information required to design a XenDesktop deployment on your chosen hypervisor platform is available publicly, but it can be hard to find since it’s spread across a multitude of knowledge base articles or white papers. In order to simplify and speed-up the design process, we’re in the process of consolidating the information that you need into a single document and augmenting it with recommendations and best practices. We’ve just finished incorporating the Hyper-V 2008 R2 and SCVMM 2012 planning section into the latest release of the Citrix Virtual Desktop Handbook, which includes important design decisions relating to this hypervisor, for example:
Selecting and sizing the right physical hardware for virtual machines
Knowing what storage options available for Hyper-V 2008 R2
What type of networks to build on the Hyper-V host
How to size the SCVMM servers
Designing a highly available SCVMM solution
Planning an effective failover cluster
The products covered in this current release of the handbook include XenDesktop 5.6, XenApp 6.5, Provisioning Services 6.x and XenClient Enterprise 4.5. A version of the Virtual Desktop Handbook covering XenDesktop 7.x, Provisioning Services 7, Hyper V 2012 R2 and SCVMM 2012 R2 is in the works with an initial release scheduled later in Q4. As always your feedback is welcomed.

Jacquard Fabric Explained: Origins, Characteristics, and Usesldtexsolbl
In this presentation, we’ll dive into the fascinating world of Jacquard fabric. We start by exploring what makes Jacquard fabric so special. It’s known for its beautiful, complex patterns that are woven into the fabric thanks to a clever machine called the Jacquard loom, invented by Joseph Marie Jacquard back in 1804. This loom uses either punched cards or modern digital controls to handle each thread separately, allowing for intricate designs that were once impossible to create by hand.
Next, we’ll look at the unique characteristics of Jacquard fabric and the different types you might encounter. From the luxurious brocade, often used in fancy clothing and home décor, to the elegant damask with its reversible patterns, and the artistic tapestry, each type of Jacquard fabric has its own special qualities. We’ll show you how these fabrics are used in everyday items like curtains, cushions, and even artworks, making them both functional and stylish.
Moving on, we’ll discuss how technology has changed Jacquard fabric production. Here, LD Texsol takes center stage. As a leading manufacturer and exporter of electronic Jacquard looms, LD Texsol is helping to modernize the weaving process. Their advanced technology makes it easier to create even more precise and complex patterns, and also helps make the production process more efficient and environmentally friendly.
Finally, we’ll wrap up by summarizing the key points and highlighting the exciting future of Jacquard fabric. Thanks to innovations from companies like LD Texsol, Jacquard fabric continues to evolve and impress, blending traditional techniques with cutting-edge technology. We hope this presentation gives you a clear picture of how Jacquard fabric has developed and where it’s headed in the future.

while switching StoreFront and AppController as the authentication and application store managers.
AppController will take over all subscription and application policy data for the solution.
9. Observations while Testing Migration Order
During internal testing, Citrix found that, when migrating NetScaler Gateway or StoreFront server, it had little impact to
legacy components (that is, AppController or Mobile Device Manager) in the infrastructure. However, if AppController or
Mobile Device Manager is upgraded, the authentication services, as noted previously, had to be switched from StoreFront
to AppController. The reason for the switch is that WorxHome is unable to communicate directly to StoreFront as the
StoreFront server does not have knowledge of the App Store in AppController.
The order of migration outlined previously, will ensure a smoother transition of services to the client devices as long as
NetScaler Gateway is bound to AppController and the Client Experience profiles switched to AppController appliance.
