Robb Montgomery founded the Smart Film School in 2014 to make remote training courses for reporters at media outlets. He is the author of two textbooks: Smartphone Video Storytelling and A Field Guide for Mobile Journalism. His documentary films have won top prizes at film festivals in Hollywood, Moscow and Berlin. Montgomery teaches mobile journalism seminars at journalism schools like the Scripps School at Ohio University, Stockholm University, American University Cairo, and the EFJ school of journalism in France. Based in Berlin, Montgomery leads mobile journalism and mobile filmmaking training in over 30 countries: online and in person.
