Charles Robert Darwin1

     Charles Robert Darwin was born on 12 February 1809.3 He was the son of Robert Waring Darwin and Susannah Wedgwood.4 He married Emma Wedgwood, daughter of Josiah Wedgwood and Elizabeth Allen, on 29 January 1839.3 He died on 19 April 1882 at age 73.3
     He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.)5 He was the naturalist.5 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)5 He wrote the book The Origin of Species, published 1859.3 He lived at Downe, Farnborough, Kent, England.5

Sir Nathaniel Barnardiston1

     Sir Nathaniel Barnardiston was born circa 1588.1 He was the son of Sir Thomas Barnardiston.1 He married Jane Soame, daughter of Sir Stephen Soame and Anne Stone. He died on 25 July 1653.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Suffolk.1 He was imprisoned for refusing to collect the "ship money."1 He lived at Ketton, Suffolk, EnglandG.1
     Fairclough described him as "one of the most eminent patriots of his time and the 23rd Knight of his family."1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.2

Jane Soame1

     Jane Soame was the daughter of Sir Stephen Soame and Anne Stone.1,2 She married Sir Nathaniel Barnardiston, son of Sir Thomas Barnardiston. She died on 17 August 1669.2
     Her married name became Barnardiston.

     Sir Stephen Soame was born in 1544.2 He was the son of Thomas Soame and Anne Knighton.3 He married Anne Stone, daughter of William Stone and Mercy Gray.2 He died on 23 May 1619.2
     He held the office of Sheriff of London in 1589.2 He held the office of Lord Mayor of London from 1598 to 1599.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for London in 1601.3

     Sir Thomas Barnardiston was the son of Sir Thomas Barnardiston and Mary Walsingham.2 He died on 23 December 1619.1
     On 22 May 1611 he was designated as one of the first 22 baronets to be created, however his patent was stayed.1 He lived at Ketton, Suffolk, EnglandG.1

     Anne Armyne was born on 6 August 1624 at Osgodby, Lincolnshire, EnglandG.1 She was the daughter of Sir William Armyne, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Hicks.1 She was baptised on 8 August 1624 at Lavington, Lincolnshire, EnglandG.1 She married Sir Thomas Barnardiston, 1st Bt., son of Sir Nathaniel Barnardiston and Jane Soame, before 1643.1 She died circa August 1671.1 She was buried on 25 August 1671 at Ketton, Suffolk, EnglandG.1
     From before 1643, her married name became Barnardiston.1

     Sir Thomas Barnardiston, 2nd Bt. was born circa 1646.1 He was the son of Sir Thomas Barnardiston, 1st Bt. and Anne Armyne.1 He and Elizabeth King obtained a marriage license on 26 July 1670.1 He died on 7 October 1698.1 He was buried on 15 October 1698 at Ketton, Suffolk, EnglandG.1 His will (dated 17 August 1696) was proven (by probate) on 4 January 1698/99.1
     He was admitted to Gray's Inn on 19 June 1667.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Barnardiston, of Ketton, co. Suffolk [E., 1663] on 4 October 1669.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Grimsby between 1685 and 1687.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Grimsby from 1689 to 1690.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Sudbury from 1695 to 1698.1 He lived at Ketton, Suffolk, EnglandG.1 He lived at Silk Willoughby, Lincolnshire, EnglandG.1

     Elizabeth King was born circa 1651.1 She was the daughter of Sir Robert King and Sophia Zouche.1 She and Sir Thomas Barnardiston, 2nd Bt. obtained a marriage license on 26 July 1670.1 She died circa October 1707.1 She was buried on 21 October 1707.1 Her will was proven (by probate) in November 1707.1
     From 26 July 1670, her married name became Barnardiston.1
