     Hon. Caroline Amelia Saumarez was born on 9 September 1839.2 She was the daughter of Colonel John St. Vincent Saumarez, 3rd Baron de Saumarez and Caroline Esther Rhodes.2 She married George Ives Irby, 4th Baron Boston, son of George Irby, 3rd Baron Boston and Rachel Ives Drake, on 20 July 1861 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, EnglandG.2,3 She died on 20 December 1922 at age 83.1
     Hon. Caroline Amelia Saumarez usually went by her middle name of Amelia.4 From 20 July 1861, her married name became Irby.2 After her marriage, Hon. Caroline Amelia Saumarez was styled as Baroness Boston on 20 July 1861. She was a nun at Lavender Hill The Ascension, St. Bartholomew, London, EnglandG, and was a principal benefactor of this parish.4 She took the religious name of Mother Mary Caroline of the Benedictine Community of the Compassion of Jesus.4

     Colonel John St. Vincent Saumarez, 3rd Baron de Saumarez was born on 28 May 1806.2 He was the son of Admiral James Saumarez, 1st Baron de Saumarez and Martha Le Marchant.3 He married, firstly, Caroline Esther Rhodes, daughter of William Rhodes, on 2 June 1838.2 He married, secondly, Margaret Antoinette Northey, daughter of William Richard Hopkyns Northey, on 13 April 1850.2 He died on 8 January 1881 at age 74.2
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baron de Saumarez, in the Island of Guernsey [U.K., 1831] on 9 April 1863.2 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Saumarez, in the Island of Guernsey [U.K., 1801] on 9 April 1863.2
