William Charles Butler1

     William Charles Butler was born on 17 January 1844.1 He was the son of Captain Charles George Butler and Emily Bayford.2 He married Emily Chadwick, daughter of H. S. Chadwick, in July 1877.1 He died on 6 December 1914 at age 70.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 3rd Border Regiment.1 He was Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Cumberland.1 He held the office of Registrar of the Probate Division of the High Court of Justice.1

     Emily Chadwick was the daughter of H. S. Chadwick.2 She married William Charles Butler, son of Captain Charles George Butler and Emily Bayford, in July 1877.1 She died on 19 April 1922.1
     From July 1877, her married name became Butler.

Henry Beauchamp Butler1

     He was a solicitor.1 He fought in the Egba Expedition in 1918.1 He was Resident in the Nigeria Political Service.1

Lt.-Col. Charles Walter Butler1

     Lt.-Col. Charles Walter Butler was born on 17 February 1880.1 He was the son of William Charles Butler and Emily Chadwick.2 He married Vivien Eleanor Bowen, daughter of Reverend Thomas Bowen, in 1905.1 He died in 1941.1
     He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1900.1 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1919, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Indian Army.1 He fought in the Afghan War in 1919.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1920.1

Charles Walter Butler and Vivien Eleanor Bowen.2 He married Auriol Lilian Evelyn Biddle, daughter of Reverend Alexander Ross Biddle, on 30 April 1940.1 He died on 10 March 1988 at age 80 at Ivybridge, Devon, England.1,3
     He was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Gloucestershire Regiment.1 He fought in the Korean War.1
