     He was baptized at North Burton, Yorkshire, EnglandG, on 6 November 1833.1 William Bennison was the son of Stephen Bennison and Rebecca Major.2 He was born in 1834 at Wold Newton, Yorkshire, EnglandG.3 He married Elizabeth Newbegin, daughter of Robert Newbegin and Mary Major, in 1850 at Wold Newton, Yorkshire, EnglandG.4 He died on 5 February 1913 at age 79 at Dipton, Southland, New ZealandG, cardiac failure, after an extensive ventral hernia operation.5 He was buried on 7 February 1913 at Dipton Cemetery, Dipton, Southland, New ZealandG, plot 168.6,5
