James Finlay Muir1

     James Finlay Muir was born on 17 December 1870.1 He was the son of Sir John Muir of Deanston, 1st Bt. and Margaret Morrison Kay.2 He married Charlotte Escudier Turner, daughter of Joseph Harling Turner, on 25 August 1909.1 He died on 7 September 1948 at age 77.1
     He was chairman of J. Finlay & Company.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He lived at Braco Castle, Perthshire, Scotland.1

Charlotte Escudier Turner1

     Charlotte Escudier Turner was the daughter of Joseph Harling Turner.2 She married James Finlay Muir, son of Sir John Muir of Deanston, 1st Bt. and Margaret Morrison Kay, on 25 August 1909.1 She died on 1 February 1967.1
     From 25 August 1909, her married name became Muir.

     Gerald Robin Muir was born on 18 July 1917.1 He was the son of James Finlay Muir and Charlotte Escudier Turner.2 He married, firstly, Doreen Margaret Watney, daughter of Colonel Charles Wanford Watney, on 2 January 1940.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Claire Hugh-Jones, daughter of Llewellyn Arthur Hugh-Jones and Dulcibella Eden, in 1983.3,1 He died in 1991.1
     He was educated at Royal Naval College, Darmouth, Devon, England.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander (S) in the Royal Navy.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1941.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)2 He was awarded the Polish Gold Cross in 1942.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) Kirkcudbrightshire.1
