     James Finlay Muir was born on 17 December 1870.¹ He was the son of Sir John Muir of Deanston, 1st Bt. and Margaret Morrison Kay.² He married Charlotte Escudier Turner, daughter of Joseph Harling Turner, on 25 August 1909.¹ He died on 7 September 1948 at age 77.¹
     He was chairman of J. Finlay & Company.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He lived at Braco Castle, Perthshire, Scotland.¹

     He was educated at Royal Naval College, Darmouth, Devon, England.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander (S) in the Royal Navy.¹ He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1941.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)² He was awarded the Polish Gold Cross in 1942.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) Kirkcudbrightshire.¹

     Colonel Charles Wanford Watney lived at Devon, England.¹

     Doreen Margaret Watney was the daughter of Colonel Charles Wanford Watney.² She married Gerald Robin Muir, son of James Finlay Muir and Charlotte Escudier Turner, on 2 January 1940.¹ She died in 1982.¹
     From 2 January 1940, her married name became Muir.

     Hugh James Robin Muir was born on 17 October 1944.¹ He was the son of Gerald Robin Muir and Doreen Margaret Watney.² He married Maureen Yearsly in 1969.¹ He died in 1995.¹
     He was educated at Trinity College, Glenalmond, Perthshire, Scotland.¹
