     Guy Nicholas Palmes was born on 14 July 1894.1 He was the son of Reverend George Palmes and Eva Blanche Harrison.1 He died on 9 May 1915 at age 20 at Belgium, killed in action.2
     He fought in the First World War.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 1st Battalion, King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry.2

     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Navy.2

     He was appointed Companion, Order of the Indian Empire (C.I.E.)2 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.)2 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the West Yorkshire Regiment.1

     Reverend Arthur Lindsay Palmes was born on 18 April 1853.1 He was the son of Reverend William Lindsay Palmes and Marianne Empson.1 He married Alice Massingberd Maxwell Hogg, daughter of John Roughton Hogg and Anna Maria Maxwell-Lyte, on 22 June 1881.1
     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England.2 He graduated from Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1879 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)2 He held the office of Prebendary of Endellion.1 He lived at Naburn Hall, Palmes Close, Naburn, Yorkshire, England.2 He lived at Berry Head House, Brixham, Devon, England.2

Craigie was born on 11 December 1824 at Calcutta, India.2 She was the daughter of Colonel John Craigie and Emily Churchill.3,1 She married, firstly, John Walker Maxwell-Lyte, son of Henry Francis Lyte and Anne Maxwell, on 22 June 1847 at St. George's Hanover Square, London, England.1 She married, secondly, Frederick Charles Maitland, son of Sir Alexander Charles Maitland, 2nd Bt. and Helen Gibson-Wright, on 8 February 1872.4 She died on 6 January 1890 at age 65.4
     From 22 June 1847, her married name became Maxwell-Lyte.1 From 8 February 1872, her married name became Maitland.4
