On October 27, 2020, AMD (NASDAQ: AMD) and Xilinx (NASDAQ: XLNX) announced that they have reached a definitive agreement for AMD to acquire Xilinx in an all-stock deal valued at $35 billion. The merger will create the industry's most powerful high-performance computing firm, greatly extending AMD's product range and customer base in a variety of emerging industries where Xilinx is already a market leader. The deal is projected to boost AMD's margins, EPS, and free cash flow generation immediately, as well as offer industry-leading growth.
